My Go-To Winter Pants: The Fleece Lined-Guide Pants

Wintergreen’s Fleece-Lined Guide Pants are my favorite cold weather pants. They are the ultimate in cozy comfort thanks to the soft fleece on the inside. From active days outside to lazy days around the house, I find myself slipping into these pants all the time.

They’re ideal to wear for a day on the slopes. The lining means there’s less you need to wear underneath. A thin layer of wool long underwear has been just right for me when the temperature is in the teens. On a warmer day, you probably wouldn’t need to wear anything under them. These pants are breathable, so my legs never feel clammy. Yet they block the wind enough to keep me from getting chilled even on the blusteriest of chair lifts. Downhill ski boots are no problem for these pants. They unzip from your ankle to knee, allowing easy access to buckle the boot. Then they zip right up over the cuff of the boot and stay put, preventing snow from getting into your boot.

All of the beneficial aspects of temperature regulation I appreciate downhill skiing also apply when I throw them on for a sunrise winter run or a couple laps on the Hidden Valley cross country ski trails. Even with a higher energy output, I don’t sweat in these pants. The pockets are spacious enough for keys, a cell phone, and energy packets or some sort of snack.

Also great for running!

I’ll let you in on a little secret. When I wear these pants I’m so comfy, I feel like I’m wearing my pajamas all day—but the rest of the world doesn’t know that. Other people just see their stylish, athletic exterior. I wear these pants around the house, when I walk the dog or run some errands. As I said, they’re my favorite cold weather pants.
