Alex Elizabeth
Alex is a Minneapolis-based trail runner who has completed ultramarathons ranging from 50K to 200 miles. Growing up in rural Wisconsin, she would rush home from school every day to run up the steep bluffs and scramble down into the deep valleys surrounding her home, each time discovering something new.
As an adult, that same desire to explore the world on foot persists as she rushes home from work each week to seek out adventure and solitude in the Northwoods of Minnesota or whatever trail or mountain is calling her.
Alex obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Minnesota Duluth in 2009 and went on to complete a Master’s in Public Health at the University of Minnesota School of Public Health in 2011. Her current profession allows her to apply creative problem solving to emerging health and environmental issues faced by local communities.
Sustainability of the natural spaces that allow her to appreciate and experience life at a slower pace is a passion that connects her personal and professional worlds. She is also passionate about supporting and empowering females to experience and test themselves in the outdoors.
When she is not on the trails, you can find Alex on her bike, exploring the gravel roads of southern Minnesota.
