Happy New Year - A Wintergreen Update from the President

Happy New Year!

This time of year can feel like the end of a marathon. As the snow now fills the Boundary Waters’ nooks and valleys, we need to stop and smell the roses. We have a lot to be thankful for and most of all we are thankful for you; our customers and friends! You have stood beside us with patience and support as we continue the path of evolving our business while making timeless northern wear, (mostly per order these days). 

Our excitement is building as we make headway and continue down the path of discovering new ways to fulfill our ongoing mission: "To inspire and connect people to the outdoors; steeped in tradition, quality and respect for nature.” 

Progress Report and Looking Ahead

First and foremost, it is no secret that our team has been working tirelessly to increase our production. We have invested significantly into our sewing capacity since taking over ownership and this remains our number one focus going into the new year. We have a fantastic growing staff at our store in Ely and still others sewing from home in nearby communities. Due to the complexity of crafting our gear, it takes a while for new sewers to get up to speed. Although challenging, we remain committed to supporting local families with livable wages and we are grateful to have such an amazing customer base to help us work through this stage of our growth.

We have recently experimented with a couple of limited edition product launches, which were introduced with great success and inspired excellent customer feedback. Please look for further opportunities in 2023 to be involved with more limited product offerings. Our north star is to continue to discover the right additions to the timeless wardrobe that Wintergreen offers and we are committed to adding more essential pieces to help you live your best outdoor life.

Our new website has been well-received, we will continue to update content and functionality to better serve you in 2023. Please don’t hold back with feedback on how this experience can improve. Thank you to all those who have helped us to date by being a part of surveys and other customer feedback.

Last but not least, we are excited to have a new designer on staff who has been picking up the baton while learning all of our current designs. We are very excited to be laying out some plans for new designs that you’ve been waiting for, (or didn’t know you needed :)
